Well done to Alice P for winning the creative writing competition. Here is her story!
Beth and the magic of noise
Once upon a time there was a house by a dazzling waterfall in the countryside. Inside the house lived a family, a mother, father and their beautiful daughter Beth.
One day the three of them went for a walk across a field of wheat when suddenly Beth heard a voice but it did not sound like her kind parents. Who else was there in sight? She looked at a nearby tree when she realised…
… that it was talking to her! “Beth let out your talent, play music,” whispered the tree. “But I can’t,” Beth replied. The highest branch of the tree produced a swirl of magic and the tree gave her some instruments. She started singing and playing the harp, followed by the piano and the guitar. She loved the flute and the recorder before she moved onto the drums. She merrily sang whenever she had another instrument. “Which instrument can you not see?” questioned the magical tree.
Beth answered “let me think, is it my voice?” “Yes. That is correct. I have just made you one of the most famous people of music!” said the tree. Beth answered “I will have lots of fun writing all these new songs and creating a band. Oh thank you tree. I did not know how much talent I have got.” “As if by magic!” whispered the tree with a big smile. “I love music!”
