In 2011 The Governors of Creeting St Mary Primary School proposed to change the age range of the school to include pupils in Year 5 and Year 6. This is part of the School Reorganisation in Suffolk aiming to change from 3 tier to two tier education throughout the county.
There was an informal consultation period during October and November 2011 and the Governors published a Statutory Notice regarding the change on 20th January 2012. A formal consultation period ran for six weeks from 20th January until 2nd March and in May we were given permission to become a full primary school.
From September 2012 pupils could choose to remain at the school after Year 4, so in September 2013 we had pupils in Year 6 for the first time. From here they have the option to move on to Debenham High School.
Several of these schools are small primaries like ours. We work together and sometimes challenge each other to sports matches.
